![The Slippery Slope (A Series of Unfortunate Events, #10)](https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1343701012m/297792.jpg)
Things look pretty grim (again) for the Baudelaires in "The Slippery Slope". Olaf has Sunny! Violet and Klaus are hurtling down the snowy mountainside in a runaway caravan! Fortunately Violet manages to stop the caravan and the two siblings escape - just in time. But they are stuck in the snow on the mountain, and facing a very long walk back up the slope to find Sunny.
Meanwhile, Olaf has Sunny doing the cooking... This made me laugh so much. As I'm sure you are aware, Sunny is a toddler... And of course, Olaf expects her to whip up a feast for him and his henchmen out of pretty much thin air.
Violet and Klaus make their way slowly up the mountain, are attacked by nasty snow gnats, find a cave to shelter in, meet the Snow Scouts, come across an old enemy, meet a new (and unexpected - no spoilers here) ally, and with the help of this ally make their way through a secret tunnel to the VFD headquarters. Which has been burnt down!
Back at Olaf's camp, we are introduced to people even worse than Olaf - the man with a beard and no hair, and the woman with hair and no beard. Even Olaf is afraid of them! Esme Squalor once again plays a major role - I love the descriptions of the "in" outfits she wears!
Will the siblings be reunited? Can the Baudelaires outwit Count Olaf once again? You will have to read the book to find out. Another fun ride - with a cliffhanger ending.
